August Cause Area
education + literacy

August’s cause area centers around education & literacy, especially targeted towards youth. Education is the backbone of any successful community as it is the gift that keeps on giving. When children are given the opportunity to flourish in school, they are then equipped to educate their community and loved ones, creating a beautiful chain of knowledge. Youth deserve to learn without impediments such as lack of resources/technology; all children should have equal access to high quality education. Knowing that one in four children in America grow up without learning how to read, Pebble Tossers strives to help even the playing field for young students, allowing them to reach their full potential.

  • Refugee Women’s Network (RWN)

Pebble Tossers will be hosting small group tutoring sessions for middle school and high school students involved with the RWN. The sessions will be held once a week for 4-6 weeks. Tutors must commit to at least half of the sessions within the time period. Tutors will work with students on a variety of subjects, focusing on reading/writing, math, science, and social studies. For more information, click here.

    College Fair
RWN will be hosting a college fair in Fall 2023. They will need volunteers (students and adults) to handle meet and greet, help with set-up and clean-up, and provide insight into the college application process. Current and recent college students from Georgia or bordering States may participate by representing their schools. If interested in participating, please email
